Kunitz Shoes is thrilled to announce their latest collaboration with Lance Cardinal, celebrating Edmonton’s love of hockey.

The “KxLC Turtle Island Sneaker” is Kunitz Shoes third major collaboration with Lance Cardinal and was produced with special permission from the Oilers Entertainment Group. 

The retro-inspired sneaker is highlighted by Lance Cardinal’s “Turtle Island” logo, which celebrates Indigenous representation and perception in both Canadian and modern hockey culture. Additional design elements such as embossed Cree syllabics and a “mocasized” raw leather pull tabs further underpin the concepts of cultural identity within the design. Kunitz Shoes and Lance Cardinal’s collaborations remain focused on a strong thread of reconcilli-Action, and the Turtle Island Sneaker sits at the pinnacle of inclusive pop-culture representation. The limited run (200 pairs) was crafted in a small artisanal factory in Portugal, using premium leathers and quality materials.

Each collectible pair is packaged in a custom KxLC box and will include a serialized collectable card signed and numbered by Lance Cardinal himself.
