Wacask 2.0

The Kunitz x Lance Cardinal collaboration continues with the newest collection! Introducing Wacask 2.0, featuring 2 styles: Nâpêw  ᓈᐯᐤ (man) and Iskwêw ᐃᐢᑫᐧᐤ (woman).

This limited edition Wacask ᐊᐧᒐᐢᐠ collection is inspired by the massively successful original Kunitz x Lance Cardinal project, which was inducted into the permanent collection of the Royal Alberta Museum in 2023. Designed in Treaty 6 Territory, by Lance Cardinal and Kunitz Shoes.

Wacask ᐊᐧᒐᐢᐠ is my artist name, meaning muskrat. I hope everyone will see the beauty of our people in this design and join this monumental moment of collaboration, authentic recognition, and reconciliation.

Living History

The Royal Alberta Museum has inducted examples of the Kunitz x Lance Cardinal into their permanent collections. The products of the collaboration represent an important representation of contemporary indigenous artifacts and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it!

Lance Cardinal is an indigenous artist, performer, and creator living in Edmonton, Alberta. His 30-year journey in the arts has allowed him to work with world class organizations all over Canada, including IKEA Edmonton, Telus World of Science, Royal Alberta Museum, Edmonton Public Library, and the Edmonton Oilers. Most recently, Lance Cardinal was a contestant on CBC’s Best in Miniature.
