Kunitz Shoes loves Curvy Calves

At Kunitz Shoes, we’ve noticed that not all calves are the same. For this very reason we’ve worked hard at putting together a great collection of boots that accomodate feet and legs of all shapes and sizes- especially those with a bit of curve. If you find you are working hard at zipping up your boots, let the fit specialists at Kunitz Shoes do their best to help you find something that works. We are constantly surprised at how different boots fit different legs! As a rule of thumb, we’ve found that continental European brands tend to fit a little wider in the shaft of the boot. A standard boot shaft (in about a size 8) will typically be about 15” around. By comparison, we have found many European makes that feature 17” as their standard (most ECCO boots for instance). A few honorable mentions in our Curvy Calf collection include…

Blondo Viviane boots

Blondo is one of the biggest features of our “Curvy Calf Collection”. The “Viviane” boot is a great take on the classic riding boot and comes in different widths.

Gabor boots

These two Gabor models feature a “Vario” calf construction. Attractive hardware and draping leather gussets add to the look, and mean custom fit for most calves.

Chaco Mara WTPF

We have a good selection of “3/4” height casual and dress boots that work well for folks whose calves sit a little higher.

Josef Seibel also loves curvy calves. Awesome styles that lace or fold down make these boots a good choice for the girl on the go.

Patagonia “Tinshed” and Merrell “Prevos”

In fully insulated winter boots, lace up/zipper combinations add huge function and fit to your boots. Loosen up the laces and tuck your pants in, or snug them up for a contoured calf fit. Either way, you zip them on-and-off once the laces are set.

Sorel Joan of Arctic Reserve

Count your blessings if you live in Edmonton; a place where you get to where your boots from Labour Day to Easter!
